Why WayAway+ is My New Favorite Way to Find Flights
It happens every time. You’ve excitedly planned the perfect trip for your family. You’ve figured out exactly which locations to check out, which events to splurge on, and know exactly how you’re making this trip an educational experience to remember. But now it’s time to actually book the plane tickets that will help make your plans come true.
This moment is usually my least favorite part of the entire travel experience.
Trying to find the best prices on flights can be a bit of mine-field for those who aren’t careful. Maybe it’s finding a flight that looks cheaper, but doesn’t include the luggage and routes you through so many locations that what should be an 8-hour flight becomes a 36-hour marathon of in-flight movies. Or perhaps it’s finding that your ideal flight is just a bit outside of the budget you have set aside. Whatever the case, WayAway+ is the new best flight aggregator to solve your travel woes.
TLDR; WayAway+ is a paid subscription service that gets you cashback on plane tickets, hotels, travel experiences and more, as well as helpful travel hints and around-the-clock support.
What even is a “Flight Aggregator”?
Simply put, a flight aggregator is a search engine for flights. It’s like Google, but instead of scraping the entirety of the internet to get you answers, it only looks through the websites of all the different airlines.
There are actually several different flight aggregators out there, and all of them work on basically that same principle. The main differences come from the specific platform’s ability to sift through the hundreds of flights on offer to find you the one that you actually want, and in their ability to make behind-the-scenes deals with airlines to get you a discounted price by using their specific platforms.
Typically, these aggregators earn their money through affiliate deals with different airlines. They send you to an airline and, in exchange, they get a slice of the profit when you book.
How WayAway+ is Different from other Flight Aggregators
So, if there are so many different flight aggregators out there, what sets WayAway+ apart from the pack? After all, if WayAway+ is just another flights website, why should you want to use it instead of another one?
Well, it turns out that there are several ways that WayAway+ makes sure it does a better job than the competition. Let’s look at a few.
Find the Perfect Flight with Detailed Filters and Flexible Views
One of the biggest problems I have with other flight booking sites is the inability to search for flights across multiple dates. I very rarely have to get to where I’m going on a specific date, so I really appreciate the ability to see the prices of flights across a wider range of times.
Sometimes, it doesn’t actually save me that much to change my flight dates. But other times, switching the day I’m flying can save me hundreds of dollars, which I can turn around and use on awesome experiences for my family instead.
For example, check out the month view below for flights to the Galapagos Islands. If I had chosen to leave on Friday, it would have cost over $400 more than leaving a bit earlier or a bit later. That easily makes it worth it to look at the differences in prices across the month.
Once you’ve chosen your date, WayAway also does a great job of listing out the available prices in an easy-to-understand format.
They even have icons that let you know if a flight has a particularly long layover, so you can weigh whether the extra time in transit is worth it, or not.
Either way, clicking through on your selected flight allows you to easily book your next flight directly with major booking services, like Expedia, Kiwi.com, BudgetAir, and more. Just choose your flight, choose your price, and WayAway directs you where you need to go.
Cash Back on Flights (and other services!) with WayAway+
Of course, WayAway’s filters and flexible views work for everyone who visits their site, but the real fun begins when you sign up for WayAway+!
Along with the ability to find cheap flights with minimal effort, subscribers to WayAway+ also earn cash back for finding flights, hotels, rentals, and experiences through WayAway! These cashback bonuses can range anywhere from 2-20% back depending on who you end up booking through, and can even be combined with other rewards programs, like Booking.com’s Genius Program.
So, to be clear: Not only are you finding incredible deals on flights, but you’re also getting a bit of what you spent back in your pocket!
Plus, for a limited time, if you sign up using the Promo Code FieldTrip you can get 10% more off your WayAway+ membership! Check it out here
Expert Travel Advice is Included
Of course, while the Cash Back is the benefit most people grab onto, it’s actually not the only bonus that members get. Another major perk is access to WayAway’s team of travel experts!
Members can send their questions to WayAway 24/7 and get answers to pretty much any travel related question they can think of. This is super useful for those times when you just need a quick answer and aren’t in a place to do a lot of Googling on your own!
Get Local Insights into Hidden Gem Locations in More Than 100 Cities
There’s nothing wrong with focusing on the major attractions when you visit a new place, but sometimes it can be a whole lot of fun to experience things like a local!
Another of the WayAway+ perks is access to their Hidden Gems suggestions. These are an awesome mix of not-to-be-missed and off-beat attractions handpicked by locals to be the ultimate list of places to visit on your trip.
More than likely, not everything on these lists will be places that you’ll want to visit, since everyone has their own tastes. But, with literally hundreds of recommended spots, you’re almost guaranteed to find something!
It’s also a great way to get oriented in a city that you’ve not visited before!
So, Is WayAway+ Worth It?
Here’s the thing.
With programs like this there are always differing opinions on whether or not a subscription is worth it. It comes with the territory. Here’s my take:
Whether or not WayAway+ is worth it entirely comes down to how often you use them for booking your flights and experiences. Unfortunately, while I often find great prices on WayAway, their prices aren’t always the best ones I can find.
For instance, when I do a quick search for tickets from Atlanta to Cairo, I can find tickets for the exact same flight on Skyscanner for about $30 cheaper/person, or $24 cheaper once you consider WayAway’s cash back. However, when I dig deeper, the flight I can get with SkyScanner only includes 1 checked bag while the one with WayAway includes 2 checked bags.
If I need 2 bags, WayAway ends up being the better choice! But it does depend on my specific travel needs. And! that doesn’t even take into account travel bonuses like WayAway’s Hidden Gems Program.
So, in my mind, WayAway+ is definitely worth it. Of course, it comes down to this. Do you get more value back than you put in?
Really there’s only one way to find out.
